DESCRIPTION:
EPW - Ulysse Nardin, Locle & Genève, unusual Russian market split-seconds chronograph with 30-minute register, dial and case with Cyrillic marking presumably for retailer, 52mm, heavy 14K gold OF original Ulysse Nardin case with 56 zolotnik mark for Russian market, gold cuvette, white enamel DS dial with impressed 30-minute register, SW-pin-set, lever escapement with capped escape wheel, at least 22J, fausses-côtes pattern nickel damascene, s#13563 with matching serial number within case. Gross weight of assembled watch 66.0 dwt (102.7 g). Currently in need of overhaul, but an eminently worthy project highlighted by its very interesting dial.
CONDITION:
Mvt: NR, fully wound, balance will tick if excess pressure is held to crown, good chronograph and minute register function as tested with pressure held to crown, split-seconds hand is currently set about 17 seconds out of index but with good stop function as tested with pressure held to crown and also with good reset aside from occasional sluggishness, overhaul needed, excellent cosmetic mvt condition overall, some toning to plate surfaces, some typical small fine to micro-fine scratches; dial with edge chips at 15 and 45 minute, outer chapter hl at 15 minutes, hl within 30-minute register running vertically through its center, affixing screws at left and right side of dial are mismatched; case shows very light wear, some fine scratches and profuse micro-fine scratches to exterior, very small nick to band at 3, no dents, interior of cuvette has a crudely scribed name and a crudely scribed American city/state location marking which are each marked two times (the person scribing the name and location marking must have thought it was so nice, he did it twice!) ; bow pivots semi-freely, crown shows light wear; good glass crystal.
